    Opal Joyce Hughes, 82 of Saginaw, passed away May 10, 2019. She was born to the late Arthur and Florence (Sandage) Parish on July 15, 1936. Opal was a homemaker and a member of Saginaw Missionary Baptist Church. She loved spending time and cooking for her family.

    She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Hughes; four sisters, Ethlene Lane, Wilma Spurlin, Dessie Eudy, and Lorene Hughes; and one brother, I.J. Parish

    She is survived by her children, Kathy (Jerry) Selph, and Ronnie (Cindy) Hughes all of Saginaw; two brothers, R.C. Parish and Hubert (Verna) Parish; two sisters, Ola Faye Lane and Betty Jo Hughes; five grandchildren, Andy (Julie) Selph, Todd (Angel) Selph, Aaron (Kathy) Hughes, Mark (Beth) Selph, and Amber (B.J.) Bosley and five great-grandchildren, Derek Bosley, Julia Selph, Rachel Kate Newton, Logan Bosley, and Luke Selph.

    Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Monday, May 13, 2019, at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malvern. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at the Saginaw Missionary Baptist Church in Donaldson with Brother Alan Cansler officiating.  Pallbearers will be Andy Selph, Todd Selph, Aaron Hughes, Mark Selph, B.J. Bosley, Derek Bosley, and Logan Bosley. Interment will be at Prairie Bayou Cemetery in Bismarck.

    So sorry to hear about Opal. She was a wonderful woman and will certainly be missed. Special prayer for Kathy and Ronnie and all their family.

    I did not know her personally, but I go to church at Sardis with Brother Ronnie and Sister Cindy. My condolences to the family. May God be with you thru this time. I am sorry I can't be there, but my heart is with all!
